Terms of the Collection
These terms apply to every Portrait Collection booked with Alexander Kwon Studio. You accept them when you book. We have kept them short so that you will actually read them.
1The Collection
The Portrait Collection is a private session with Alexander at the studio in Coal Harbour, Vancouver, followed by ten curated digital portraits, retouched and delivered in your own personal online gallery. The price is $1,500 CAD. Applicable taxes, where charged, are shown on your invoice.
2Booking and deposit
A $250 deposit holds your date and is applied to the Collection price. The deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is settled at the studio on the day of your session, before we begin, by card or cash. An invoice is issued when your deposit is received and marked paid once the balance is settled.
3Rescheduling and no-shows
Your date can be moved to another available studio day with at least 48 hours' notice, and your deposit moves with it. If you do not attend, or cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the deposit is forfeited and a new booking requires a new deposit.
If we ever have to move a session, we will offer you the next available dates, and if none suits you the deposit is refunded in full.
4Your session
Alexander confirms the time of your session by email after you book. The day is reserved for you alone, so please arrive on time; we will do the same.
5Delivery
Your gallery is delivered within two weeks of your session. The portraits are selected and retouched at Alexander's discretion; that curation is the Collection.
Your gallery stays online for twelve months. Please download your portraits within that time. We keep an archive, and a gallery can be restored on request.
6Your portraits and licence
You receive a perpetual, worldwide licence to use your portraits for personal and self-promotional purposes: your website, social profiles, press material and the marketing of your own work, including cropping and resizing to fit. Alexander Kwon Studio retains the copyright.
The portraits may not be sold, sublicensed or supplied to third parties for their own use, and may not be altered beyond cropping and resizing, whether by re-grading, filters or AI tools, without our written agreement. A credit to Alexander Kwon Studio where practical is appreciated.
7Portfolio use
When you book, you choose whether Alexander may show a selection of your portraits in the studio's portfolio, on this website and in its advertising. Saying no has no effect on your session. You can change your answer at any time by emailing [email protected], and we will withdraw your portraits from future use within a reasonable time.
8Prints and albums
Fine art prints and albums are available separately at standard studio rates. The ten digital portraits are always included in the Collection and are never billed separately.
9Founding Client credit
Where it applies, the Founding Client credit is deducted from the Collection price only. It cannot be exchanged for cash or applied to prints and albums.
